Forklift certification is a must for anyone who wants to operate a forklift on the job. OSHA has specific standards that must be met regarding forklift operation. This administration is does not approve training programs or the trainers that administer them. The only exception is the 10 or 30 hour outreach programs that OSHA provides. They do want to make sure that the employee and employer is in compliance. It is the employer’s responsibility to make sure that anyone who drives a forklift is certified. It is the responsibility of the employee to make sure that the employer certifies them before they get behind the wheel also. OSHA is attempting to make sure that the work environment is a safe one for everyone involved. Many businesses are heavily fined each year because of their lack of compliance with these standards. Make sure your place of business is not one that gets penalized by having every forklift driver obtain the proper training and forklift certification.
