It might sound bad but with lenses like the Panasonic 20mm on the market, there is no reason to even look at the Olympus 17mm. While both these lenses fulfill all the criteria for a lightweight, portable and sharp camera lens, the Olympus falls down flat when it comes to image quality. I do not know how it happened but this lens has some of the worst chromatic aberration control I have ever seen. It is so bad that even in post processing it is almost impossible to get rid of it all. This makes it very hard for me to recommend this lens especially considering what a great job the offering from Panasonic does. If you are looking for a lens upgrade for your micro four thirds camera I would recommend you save up a bit more and purchase the Panasonic while avoiding this lens completely. It is just not worth it in the end.
